Bonn Latimer
Early Beginnings
Growing up in the small farming community of Union City, Tennessee, Bonn learned the virtues of hard work at a very young age. He spent all of his high school and college years working on a farm or at a granary loading 60-pound bags of seed onto trucks.
Getting Ready for the Future
Bonn graduated from the University of Tennessee with data processing, business management, and statistics majors. He then moved to Nashville to work in the insurance business. There, he quickly learned that working inside and wearing a suit and tie was not the kind of life he wanted.
Returning to His Roots
After researching the possibilities, Bonn decided to try his hand at construction. He would often stay at the sites he worked on, focusing on learning the ins and outs of the trade. With experience as his teacher, he founded Oak Tree Builders in 1984.
Establishing the Business
Bonn soon became renowned for his commitment to understanding every phase of the building process, and for continuously producing quality projects. This led the City of Brentwood to ask him to serve on their Board of Construction Review and Appeals. He served as a member on the committee for over 20 years.
